THE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior sawmill or planermill experience is preferred.

THE DUTIES:

The ideal candidates are responsible to perform the physical duties involved with cleanup and/or production duties in both sawmill and planer environments including, but not limited to:

  • Sweeping and shoveling, walking on even and uneven surfaces, pushing a wheelbarrow and using a power saw.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, a safety-conscious attitude, and impeccable attendance. 

Wages are $32.09 an hour as per the collective agreement.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent organization, computer, communication, and team skills.  The candidate must have proven skills related to all facets of forestry operations and field work.  Field experience is a definite asset.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • A minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Proficient in current technology, GIS knowledge an asset
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Association of Saskatchewan Forest Professionals
  • Knowledgeable in current forest legislation
  • Valid driver’s License with a clean abstract

THE DUTIES:

Based out of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and under the direct supervision of the Woodlands Superintendent, the Woodlands Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the harvesting and field operations for operations in Saskatchewan.

  • Manage contractor safety, performance, and environmental leadership in the operations
  • Plan and execute annual road, harvest and post-harvest programs
  • Implements Log Quality program for Contractors
  • Professional interaction with Government personnel and industry partners
  • Other duties related to operations

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Journeyman Electrician will be an exceptional troubleshooter and always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter.

Education Required:

  • Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal electrical certification.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
  • Training or experience working on Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) RS Logix 5000, 500, 5 and various control systems.
  • Training or experience with Computers/VFD/Optimization/RMC and networking.
  • Able to do shift work, including nights or weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude.

THE DUTIES:

  • Communicate with other departments about any production issues.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electrical systems such as but not limited to Motors, VFDs, PLCs, faulty wiring, controls and other optimization related scanning in a timely fashion.
  • Use and troubleshoot Controls systems via computers, AB software and basic networking.
  • Read blue prints, schematics and plans.
  • Adapt to changing technologies, priorities and working conditions.
  • Follow and understand the Canadian Electrical Code.

The ideal candidates will be responsible to perform the physical duties involved with cleanup and other entry level duties in a sawmill/planer environment including, but not limited to:

  • Sweeping and shoveling, walking on even and uneven surfaces, pushing a wheelbarrow and using a power saw.
  • Be willing and able to run various production jobs as assigned.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, a safety-conscious attitude, and impeccable attendance. 

Wages are per the collective agreement.
