The Journeyperson Millwright will be an exceptional troubleshooter and always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter.

  • Education Required: Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal Industrial Mechanic certification. 3rd or 4th year apprentices will be considered.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
  • Work on shifts, including nights or weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude.


  • Communicate with other departments about any production issues.
  • Welding and fabricating, troubleshoot hydraulics
  • Install and set clearances on high speed bearings
  • Change chipper knives
  • Perform running PM checks on various machine centers
  • Chase whistles in a fast paced environment

Carrier Manufacturing is the largest manufacturing shop north of Abbotsford. Handling projects across a wide range of primary resource industries, the shop is reputed for our consistent engineering standards and top-notch workmanship. We attract clientele from across Canada and into the United States, completing projects from mining to forestry to agriculture and beyond.


We are currently accepting applications for a Red Seal Machinists for our Prince George shop. We will also accept resumes from third or fourth year apprentices. Other qualifications include:

  • 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints
  • Excellent time management and organization
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment


  • Interpret technical drawings and instructions
  • Ensure equipment produced works correctly
  • Working with steel fabrication techniques, steel grades and shapes
  • Produce precision tools

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hrs/week with opportunity for overtime on nights and weekends.
